“There may be more beautiful times, but this one is ours.”
I’ve lived just long enough to know that change—whether designing a product or designing your life—takes resilience, self-compassion, and the ability to learn and unlearn.
I have lived a few lives. I’ve been an ASME-nominated journalist, an adjunct professor, and now, for nearly 20 years, a design leader working in consulting and at major Fortune 1000 organizations. While I continue working full-time, I know many of my peers are hurting. They’ve been laid off, confused by what’s next, and don’t want to be defined by circumstance. My coaching practice is a way of giving back to a community that so generously supported my own path to leadership.
In my coaching practice, I may know the answer to some of your questions, but it would be a disservice to you if we didn’t work towards the ability to, as the poet Ranier Marie Rilke once wrote, “Live your questions.” When we live within the discomfort of our questions and take concrete steps to reveal the opportunity waiting to emerge within them, we don’t need monolithic answers. We need action. The truth is we have boundless self-awareness, creativity, and courage. There are only things in the way.
If this sounds like you, and you’re ready to do the work and reap the benefits, then let’s get in touch!
Commonly used in design and product development, the “Double Diamond” process framework shows that any preferred future requires the contraction and expansion of thinking in order to produce breakthrough ideas, experiences, products, and services. But here’s the thing: it can also produce your own future life, which will either be designed by you or for you.
